 Day Trips and Family Outing Suggestions Near Montreal

Some days you want to take the kids out for a fun family day but can’t think of an interesting place to go. Montreal is surrounded by wonderful opportunities for a day out with the kids.

This map provides some suggestions for a trip that can be done within a day or less and does not require an overnight stay.

Montreal Day Trips

1000 Islands

Take a cruise through the 1000 island region and enjoy many of the local attractions. Cruises depart from the town of Gananoque, Ontario which is about a 2.5 hour drive from Montreal.

The old site of Montreal’s Expo 67 World’s Fair it now includes a wide variety of activities that could easily occupy a complete day.
